Social Media annoys me, yet I use it everyday.
Do I have to know that because I worked late I missed out on all of my friends drinking together? And do I have to be reminded every Thursday night that I will probably never participate in a thirsty-Thursday again?
Sometimes I get so caught up in the negativity that I cause myself to forget to take time to appreciate the positives. Maybe it's because I am constantly reminded of things I don’t have, or I am not doing by my social media indulging.
Why is it so hard to concentrate on the positives of life, yet so easy to complain about all the negatives?
There are so many things to be grateful for, and even more things to just smile about. I have no problem admitting this generation is beyond screwed. Social media has taken a toll on our personas, self-esteem, and even relationships. I wish I lived in the modern age where I didn’t have to Snapchat a picture of my sushi, but I don’t and I get sucked into the norm. Therefore, maybe sometimes it’s okay to be private and sit back and not show the world what exactly you’re doing at 12:18 on a Sunday. BUT why dont we?

It takes real “balls” to remove yourself from the wrong in the world, and I’m not saying those everyday Facebook binges, and Twitter rants are wrong, I’m just asking what makes it right? Which is why I’m pointing out that maybe it’s our social media that makes us more stressed than we should be. Maybe it’s the thought that someone is making more money with their YouTube channel then you who is working forty-hour weeks. But does that mean that person that lays in bed on Monday’s is happy? Not necessarily, which is why we have this distraught view of the people we watch/stalk/view on social media that makes me wonder... Would we all be happier if social media didn’t exist?
So here’s a list of things to do on a daily bases that I find to be useful…. That have absolutely nothing to do with social media.
1. Shop til you drop
2. Write or draw
3. Meditate
4. Exercise
5. Work on a DIY Project
6. Take a bike ride
7. Bake fattening foods
8. Listen to music
9. Netflix & Chill
10. (My favorite) Nap
....Off to check my gram.
