7 Reasons Why The 1st Of The Month Sucks At 22

Growing up, the first of the month was nothing but an optimistic new day. Now as a working adult, I'm not so optimistic as the months come to an end.

It hasn't even been a year that I've been out of college, and my depression is at an all time high.

Working isn't as bad as it seems, it's worse. As if waking up five days a week, to work an 8-hour day that ends with a walk around the block with your dog isn't torture enough, you now have more responsibilities.

I was taught at a young age to work for my money, which has lead me to a life filled with jobs. I always paid for what I wanted, because I was never was handed anything from my parents. Therefore, after I graduated I knew my parents weren't going to make it easier on me, I was use to the "tough love".

It was clear graduating college meant I was an ADULT. I needed to handle my own weight, meaning no more bills under their names name that I would "pay".

Since I graduated college, the first of the month has not been very exciting considering I have the following bills to pay; credit card, phone, car insurance, the usual spent department store payments (Macys, Kohls, etc.), and most importantly... college loans.

Therefore, the first of the month is for me, the worst of the month.

7 Reasons Why:

1. The mail always comes, they won't forget.

2. All that money you made over the month goes from 100-0 real quick.

2. If you don't pay on time, they will find you.

3. Macy's is always having a sale that you can't resist.

4. Those 4 Fireball shots, and the 3 Red Bull-Vodkas you charged at Porta last Friday seemed like a good choice at the time.

5. You owe so much in College loans, taking out more loans is not an option.

6. Taylor Swift helped Rebekah pay off most of her loans, and there is a slim to none chance she will be helping you.

7. You are usually overreacting, but you will yell about them and complain anyway.
