Reasons Why We Brunch

Brunch always wins. When the weekends roll around its a constant thought on my mind. It's a reason to drink during the day PLUS a hangover cure. Most importantly, it is the only thing I will willingly set my alarm for on a Saturday or Sunday.

Let's be real, whoever invited bottomless brunches is a genius. Who can say no to endless Mimosas, I CAN'T. But what really gets me are the choices of food. It's not just breakfast food, it's lunch as well. Steak and eggs coming right up. The options are endless.

Exactly why there are just so many reasons why we brunch....

Hangover cure.

Having no problem waking up early.

You can literally wear whatever. Comfy pants for the win.

The food options are doubled.

Did I mention the food?

Atmosphere. Everyone loves to brunch, even the restaurants love it.

Excuse to drink before noon.

There is no specific time; 11, 12, or 3...

Two meals in one... one less meal = less carbs

Instagram worthy.. daylight lighting #nofilter

Justification you have no time to go to the gym.

You feel classy and accomplished.

Now go make plans to brunch...

I Got That Lottery Fever...

Lottery fever is the highest it has ever been.

The odds of winning the 1.4 Billion Dollar Powerball Jackpot is about 1 in 292 million. Yet majority of the United States is out buying multiple tickets.

As I say, I have more of a chance to win by buying one, then by not buying one at all.

Of course no matter how small your chance is, you still put in your head what you would do if you won.

Some don't understand if you don’t win, you may find yourself happier than if you do.

There’s more unsuccessful stories, then successful stories for previous winners. Why? Well let’s just say, harassment, legal battles, and family troubles are probably the top three. And as my father says, money can’t buy your health.

But no matter the negatives, let’s all be real, I want to win, you want to win, even your grandma wants to win.

For me though it's not only about the money. It's about the freedom. Freedom of being able to do what you want, whenever you want, for the rest of your life. Freedom of not having to work every day, and to never have to stress about bills.

Yeah so other than the freedom, if I won I would totally do the following:

1. Sorry boss, I enjoy working for you, but I would totally quit.

2. PAY OFF MY STUDENT LOANS!

3. Buy a new car, my 2005 Mazda is getting a little old.

4. Pay off my parents home.

5. Help my brothers pay through their college tuition.

6. Go on a 3-month vacation backpacking through Europe.

7. Put a mortgage down on my own home.

8. Help the people I love.

9. Use the money to help my sushi-gram sky rocket into a fun job.

10. Invest!!!

11. Make sure to get lost in enjoying my life rather than getting lost in enjoying the money.

Good luck!

18 Reasons Why Thanksgiving Is The Best Holiday

It's no surprise I love Thanksgiving, it's a freaking holiday that focuses around food! And most importantly, no gifts, no expectations. Just a relaxing day that is dedicated to being thankful with family, friends, and food.

It's a special day, and it only happens once a year, which is why everyone should truly appreciate Thanksgiving; for those reasons, and the following.....

1. The food.

2. Having a 4-day weekend.

2. Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

3. Not having to focus on buying gifts.

4. It's a universal holiday.

5. Your family is 'typically' in the best mood.

6. Sitting back for a full day and appreciating what you have.

7. Curing your TGE hangover with food and more alcohol.

8. Not giving a sh** about eating healthy.

9. Loosening your pant button after dinner and it's accepted.

10.  Mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes, and more mashed potatoes.

11. The consistent flow of alcohol.

12. A mid-day nap.

13. STUFFING!

14. Pumpkin, Blueberry, Apple, Pecan, or any pie for that matter.

15. The leftovers:)

16. Giving thanks.

17. The Black Friday shopping at midnight.

18. The kickoff to the holiday season!!!

DIY Sushi Costume

Every year Halloween comes along and I walk into the Halloween store and want to buy multiple costumes. The options are endless and I love them all.

Well not this year. This year I had the authority to plan Magic 98.3’s Halloween party, and I knew being the party planner I had to be different.

So I pintrested and googled but quickly realized there is nothing online that someone HASN’T been. I wanted to walk in the room and know the chance of anyone having the same costume as me was slim to none.

And then it hit me, sushi. I mean the infamous picture all over instagram of the baby in the sushi roll is super cute... but I didn’t want to do that. Frankly I didn’t know how to, nor want to wear something that obnoxious. Therefore if I’m not a roll, the only other option would be a sashimi!

So since I got an abundance of awesome feedback about my costume I thought it would be nice to let everyone know this costume was completely DIY and here are the few easy steps:

1. At first my plan was to wear all white with a cardboard shrimp on my back but no, we have mothers for a reason. My came home with a mattress pad for my back and it couldn’t of been more perfect. I cut it into the shape I wanted and then all I had to do was paint it!

2. When picking out the color for the shrimp sashimi I felt it had to be a mix of pink and orange, sooooo I bought both and mixed them.

Orange Acrylic Paint - $.69 Michaels

Salmon Acrylic Paint - $.69 Michaels

3. Now I knew I wanted to make rolls for my hair so I went to Hobby Lobby and bought felt fabric. I bought four colors, Black, White, Green & Pink for $.99 each sheet. So it could symbolize my favorite roll... Tuna Avocado.

4. Hot glue and I became best friends for this part. I just rolled the fabric into the shapes I wanted and hot glued them together.

5. After cutting them into shape, I then took dry rice and hot glued pieces all over the roll.

6. I now had to hot glue the pieces onto a headband. The headband had to be thick, and by finding one with an opening it was perfect because I was able to put chopsticks through it. (I also added some flavorful wasabi and ginger to the side of them.)

Goody Ouchless Flex Headband - $5.29 Kmart

7. Now all I need was the outfit. I had a white skirt that I knew would go nicely but I decided to do a search during my weekly Amazon binge to see if they had anything I could wear ....and they did.

Well guess what, this awesome skirt ended up becoming the shirt I wore!

8. And lastly the SEAWEED. Which was just black satin ribbon with velcro!

So for anyone who wants to go as Sushi next year, there ya go! Of course I had my soy sauce with me at all times....
